Liu Yang is one of the most successful female divers in China, and her achievements have been remarkable. Liu Yang was born on May 16, 1985, in Changchun, Jilin Province. She started diving at the age of five and quickly showed promise with her skills.
In 2004, Liu Yang won the gold medal in the women's 10m platform event at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. This was only the beginning of her success as she continued to dominate the sport. In 2007, Liu Yang won the silver medal in the same event at the World Aquatics Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
Since then, Liu Yang has gone on to achieve even more success. In 2010, she became the first Chinese diver to win a world championship title when she took home the gold medal in the women's 10m platform event at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. In 2014, she won another world championship title, this time taking home the silver medal in the same event at the World Aquatics Championships in Shanghai.
But Liu Yang's achievements don't stop there. In 2015, she became the first Chinese diver to win a gold medal in the women's 10m platform event at the FINA World Diving Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary. And in 2016, she won the bronze medal in the same event at the Rio Olympics.
